News on Twitter (via. @mweilc) that the above portrait catalogued as 'Circle of Van Dyck' made 5,200,000 SEK (roughly the equivalent of €509,972) over its €4k - €6k estimate at the Uppsala Auktionskammare in Sweden yesterday. Whispers on Twitter suggest that the bold handling is reminiscent of Rubens's brush.
